50+ Years in a little red cottage in Dennis Pot

Then and Now

The bakery was originally founded by Mr. Woolf in the Newton area more than five decades ago. He was a master baker who learned his craft while serving in the U.S. Army. Shortly thereafter, he moved his operation to Dennis Port on Cape Cod, setting up shop in the little red cottage that still stands today. Mr. Woolf lived in that cottage and ran the bakery with his family for many years before selling the business to the Moretti family.

In 2010, my family—the Shadbegians—purchased both the business and the property, and we have lived on the property ever since. Woolfie’s has remained a true family operation, and today we are proud to have three generations actively working in the business.

Over the years, Woolfie’s has become a Cape Cod icon. Every summer, we draw crowds from all over Cape Cod and far beyond. I regularly meet people across the country—and even around the world—who tell me they’ve been to Woolfie’s Bakery during their summer vacations. Being walkable to the beach, welcoming locals and visitors alike, and serving food that people genuinely look forward to has made Woolfie’s part of many family traditions.

We’re best known for our oversized, fresh-baked muffins, croissants, other baked goods, hearty breakfast sandwiches, and of course, our coffee.

Our coffee is sourced directly from Colombia. We travel there ourselves and maintain personal, first-hand relationships with the farmers we buy from. We import the coffee directly to Woolfie’s and roast it right here on Cape Cod. This direct connection helps ensure quality, transparency, and fairness, while also supporting farming families who work hard to keep their crops healthy and pure.

Beyond the bakery, we’re expanding our coffee operations and now ship coffee to all 50 states. We’re also part owners of a café in Medellín, Colombia, further deepening our connection to the communities we source from.

Community has always mattered to us. Over the years, Woolfie’s has volunteered countless hours and made many donations to local causes. We take pride in being more than just a business—we strive to be a cultural jewel of Cape Cod and beyond.

Generations of families have come through our doors, and many tell us that a stop at Woolfie’s is one of the highlights of their summer or vacation. While our menu has evolved over time, one thing has never changed: we care deeply about great coffee, great food, and a great customer experience.

We do our best to move quickly during the busy summer lines, and we train our staff to be efficient, friendly, and welcoming. While we’re not perfect, we love what we do and are constantly working to improve.

Thank you for being part of the Woolfie’s story. When you eat at Woolfie’s, you’re supporting two families—yours and ours—and helping farming families in Colombia continue the work they’re proud of.
